OUR DESIGNERS

Nancy Rehder

Nancy is the owner of The Linen Kist, the C.F.O. (Chief Fun Officer), and the inspiration behind it all. Her keen eye has developed over the years with the changing trends in home fashion, yet she keeps a mindful watch toward the classic, timeless looks that say “forever”…

She has lived in the Vail valley since 1978, raised two sons in the area, and has offered her time, talent, and support to scores of organizations, not only in the Vail area, but throughout Colorado. Children are her true love, and she’ll be introducing her “Linen Kist Kids” line in the near future. Surely her new granddaughter, Hailey Rose, will be an inspiration…

“I love people.” That’s what makes The Linen Kist work.

Thanh Nguyen

A success story in itself, Thanh grew up in Saigon, Vietnam, a product of post-war poverty. She began sewing doll clothes when she was 5 years old, and progressed into making her own clothes when she was a school girl. “We were poor, and I had only 2 shirts and 2 skirts to wear to school. When they were both dirty, I had to wear soiled clothes, so I saved whatever money I had, and went to fabric stores to buy whatever scraps they had. Sometimes the store would give the small pieces to me, and I sewed them together to make a quilted piece of clothing.”
Her creative touches are what make her pieces so unique and enjoyable. We feel so very fortunate for having Thanh creating for us, and she feels the same for having the opportunity to work with such beautiful fabrics!

Truly a match made in heaven…

IRENE SCHOLL

Irene, a native of Colorado, has been in the Vail Valley since 1982.  She has extensive background in the retail flooring industry, working with builders, designers, and retail clients.
One-of-a-kind-Irene is how she’s known at The Linen Kist, constantly cleaning up after everyone, keeping us organized, and designing some unique and colorful bedding.  She knows our fabric library well, and is always the one who can come up with that hard to find piece.
Irene has developed some loyal clients since she began in 2006, and is always eager to help make your bedroom the one that “takes your breath away”…   She is definitely one to go the extra mile…

Maggie Brown

Maggie joined The Linen Kist team in 2005, thinking that she would be sequestered in an office with papers. She quickly jumped into the retail realm; her calm personality compliments and tranquilizes a sometimes chaotic environment, keeping us all grounded and reminded that there’s no such thing as a “linen emergency”…
Maggie has lived in Vail since 1972, and she and her husband have watched the spectacular growth and change in the entire valley over the past 35 years. She’s a delightful addition, jumping in with confidence wherever she’s needed.

AMY JOERSZ

Amy rejoined The Linen Kist in 2007, having formerly been with our team from 1993
through 1995.  Her talents for merchandising and design, and sense of today’s styles are a valuable addition to The Linen Kist staff.  Providing excellent personal care of her clients is invaluable, and her number one priority.
Amy’s sidekick, 9 year old son Miles, keeps her busy after hours – he loves to visit us at the store to check out the newest soaps and spread a little cheer…  Be sure to stop in to meet Amy and welcome her back!

REID GRIEBLING

Warehouse guy.  Reid runs our warehouse, takes care of the shipping, receiving and deliveries, and keeps us abreast of the weather…
A 5th generation Colorado native, resident golf pro and stand up comedian, Reid is married to Regina O’Brien, and expecting their first child in May 2008.  He grew up in the Vail Valley, and is the youngest son of Linen Kist owner Nancy Rehder.

Have a look at www.realvail.com for a daily weather blog written by Reid, along with other humorous anecdotes.

DAVID GRIEBLING

Another 5th generation Colorado native and oldest son of Nancy, David holds title of Vice President of Operations.  He keeps the place running smoothly, keeps our website updated, stays on top of marketing and advertising, answers our many “tech” questions, and manages our manufacturing workroom in Denver.
He and his wife Erin have two daughters, Hailey Rose and Willow Keelan, and live in Morrison Colorado.
